XD I think one of my favorite movies ("Saw") was inspired by "The Cube", pointing out its flaws to make them your strengths. Let me explain, in "The Cube" nobody knows anything about why those people are there because they themselves are put to the test in "Saw" this is carefully explained and detailed, so the film takes on a value more.
"The cube" is still a great movie, watch it if you have the 'opportunity
